… Minister of State for Defence and Convener of Tinubu Again Movement targets 20 million votes for President Tinubu.
Minister of State for Defence and Founder/Convener of the Tinubu Again Movement, Dr. Bello Matawalle, on Tuesday received a rousing welcome in Abuja following his return to Nigeria, as he vowed to lead an extensive mobilisation effort in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for re-election in 2027.
Matawalle, who was recently named Deputy Director, Security and Intelligence I of the 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council, said his movement would commence an extensive mobilisation and grassroots campaign across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
Hundreds of supporters, including APC chieftains and members of the Tinubu Again Movement, gathered at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, several hours ahead of the Minister’s arrival. Supporters also lined the route as his convoy proceeded to his residence, where he addressed the gathering.
Speaking to the crowd, Matawalle said the Tinubu Again Movement had set a target of mobilising 20 million votes for President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
“As you all know, the campaign has started, and my target is to deliver 20 million votes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election under my movement, the Tinubu Again Movement. I am ready to do everything possible within my power to ensure that we achieve this target,” he said.
The Minister said there was sufficient justification for the movement to support the President, citing what he described as the administration’s efforts in the areas of youth employment, security and economic development.
“There is every reason to do that for our President. He has given his best to this country and continues to do everything he can for Nigeria in terms of youth employment, security, the economy and so many other areas that the President has focused on in the last three years,” Matawalle said.
He added that the Tinubu Again Movement was established to mobilise support for the President and advance the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Also speaking, the National Coordinator of the Tinubu Again Movement, Dr. Auwal Abdullahi Aliyu, expressed confidence in the President’s prospects in the 2027 election.
Aliyu said the large turnout was a demonstration of the movement’s commitment to its leader and to the President’s re-election bid.
“We came out here massively to welcome our leader back home and to thank God for bringing him back safely,” he said.
He reiterated the movement’s commitment to supporting President Tinubu’s second-term bid, adding that its members would continue to mobilise support for the President across the country.
Matawalle, in response, expressed appreciation to the thousands of supporters who turned out to welcome him. He thanked them for their solidarity and prayed for their safe return to their respective destinations.
